Chiropractor

Danielle E. Ryan, DC

Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician®

Owner, Chiropractor at Finger Lakes Chiropractic

Dr. Ryan earned her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biology, from Keuka College. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College; both in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York where she was born and raised. Coming from a large family, she has two uncles who are chiropractors. Their positive influences helped her, from the age of 14, to pursue her dream of providing quality, natural healthcare to her community.

While at NYCC, Dr. Ryan’s training included two rotations at the Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Other clinical experience includes an externship in Nelson Bay, Australia and private practice in Williamsburg, Virginia. Her work with various populations, especially veterans made an indelible impression on Dr. Ryan. During these times, her personal and professional philosophies and conduct were shaped. She was exposed to significant conditions that result from the physical strains that affect the soldiers who serve our country. In getting to know her patients at the VAMC, she became even more convinced of the relationship between mental and emotional hardships and their effects on the human body. Through these exposures, Dr. Ryan began to promote the 7 elements of wellness to her practice: physical, emotional, social, environmental, intellectual, occupational and spiritual health.

From a young age, Dr. Ryan has been involved with athletics. While working on her undergraduate degree she worked in the training room as an athletic trainer. Here she gained hands on experience in the connection between the physical, emotional, and psychological demands placed on athletes. As a marathon runner, past cross-country and track and field athlete, Dr. Ryan has struggled with and suffered from numerous soft tissue and joint injuries. After trying numerous treatment modalities throughout her years of running, she was helped the most by chiropractic treatment. Firsthand experience intrigued and motivated her to treat the patient as a whole; treating the causes of injuries and dysfunction along with addressing areas of discomfort. She focuses on rehabilitative modalities for treating injuries and other physical disorders. Her areas of focus are extensive but have a special emphasis on the needs of women, children, and athletes. Dr. Ryan is an advocate of preventative health and wellness and places emphasis on proper lifestyle modifications to enhance overall wellbeing. Along with injuries and pain, Dr. Ryan focuses on the integrity of the bones and soft tissues. Through patient education, she believes injury and disease can become preventable.

Most recently Dr. Ryan obtained the postgraduate designation of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician® (CCSP®) by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians™ (ACBSP™). The CCSP® instruction is specific to physical fitness and the evaluation and treatment of injuries encountered in sports. Following the completion of instruction hours the doctor must then take and successfully pass a comprehensive examination. This treatment will aid the doctor in the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries by enhancing her diagnostic skills and patient care. The CCSP® certification exists to provide a uniform standard of education that assures teams and athletes that the doctor has met a minimum level of competency in chiropractic sports medicine. If you are interested in having your sports event covered, please contact Dr. Ryan.

After graduation in 2008, she has gone on to provide mobile care for the central Finger Lakes region, along with opening a facility in Moravia, NY to provide quality care to the community in a knowledgeable, caring, compassionate manner.

Testimonials

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "I suffered from a herniated disc since my early days of military service. After going to several chiropractors over the years, they told me that there was nothing they could do besides surgery. I was skeptical to try "another" chiropractor. I must say that Dr. Ryan has helped me tremendously. I am now pain free and she has found the underlying problem which is another thing that she is helping me with. If you are as skeptical about chiropractors as I was, I would highly recommend Dr. Ryan."
